December's Children
Buy the CD

First released in December 1965, "December's Children" was the album that got me hooked on the Stones. Listen to the songs intently -- you'll know.
Hot Rocks, 1964-1971

Originally released in 1972 and remastered in 1987, "Hot Rocks, 1964-1971" contains the greatest of the great songs of the Stones. If you're allowed to take only one album of the Rolling Stones to a desert island, take this.
The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones
Buy the Book

Stanley Booth took 15 years to write "The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones" -- but it was worth the wait. The material is a close-up of the behind-the-scenes of Stones from their early years up till their disastrous Altamont tour. If you want to know the whole story, it's in the book.
Gimme Shelter
Buy the DVD

The music takes you soaring. The violence slams you back on the ground. "Gimme Shelter (1970)" is an experience. You need to "be there" - get the movie.

Keith Richards inducted Chuck Berry at the inaugural Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies in 1986 at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel. At the third annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies, Mick Jagger inducted the Beatles.

It was the following year, 1989, at the fourth annual dinner, that The Rolling Stones was finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

We found the most *awesome* Rolling Stones sites on the web:
  • Stonesdotcom - not the official Rolling Stones site but archives an impressive extensive discography and historical timeline of the group from the days each member was born.
  • stones - doesn't say if they're the official Stones site but they have "the Stones' official online store," a 1933-1997 history, and a "Profile"-to-"Bridges to Babylon" discography. What's creative is their image gallery and their new feature "fun and games."
  • The Rolling Stones Concert Tour - www.stones.net - "the unlimited, unofficial, and unconventional" tribute to the Rolling Stones World Tours, 1997, 1998, and 1999.
  • The Rolling Stones Fan Site and Internet Database - tons of information, interaction, and astounding photos! Massive site! You could get lost in there.
